Lakers vs Suns Game 2

With an one nothing lead the Lakers look to go up two games in the series on their home floor the Staples Center. However this would be a very difficult task for the Suns because throughout the 2010 playoffs the Lakers have not been defeated in the Staples Center, so home court is very important when it comes to the playoffs. Like I said in my previous blog about the Suns and Laker match up was that the Suns need to double Kobe more and receive more rebounds, they completed one of the tasks which was double Kobe Byrant more. At one point of the game Kobe Byrant was five of thirteen from the field, however he brought another skill in his repitoire he started passing more and ended the game with a career playoff thirteen assists which led the whole Laker team but the leader of the whole game for assists was Suns superstar point guard Steve Nash with fifteen assists. In the end the Lakers won the game twelve points 124-112, with paul gasol leading the way with twenty nine points and Lamar Odom leading the team in rebounds with eleven. The Suns leader in scoring was their veteran shooting guard Jason Richardson who had twenty seven but it wasn't enough to stop the former world champs who have six straight games in the playoffs. In my opinion like I said before the Suns need to get more rebound so that at least have a chance to stop Kobe and the Lakers but then again they are a small team, however their excuse for your leading rebounder should have only six rebounds for two straight games. In conclusion the Suns are going back home where they play great so I think we might have a series when it comes to next because i honestly cant see the Lakers sweeping or beating the Suns in Phoenix.

Boston vs Orlando Game 1

This was a very anticipated matchup because both teams went to the finals in the last two years, with Boston going in 2008 and Orlando getting to the finals in 2009. For much part of the game the Celtics led the game which many of the NBA fans were surprised at especially the fans in Orlando that watch their team get dominated in the first half of the game. However the Orlando Magics stormed back lead by their veteran shooting guard Vince Carter who also led the team in points by scoring twenty three points at one point of the game the magics cut the led down to single digits. The fans got into the game and the momentum was on the Orlando Magic's side however the Celtics are a veteran team that know what to do in the last minutes of the game. In the end key players made key plays to win the game for the Celtics. The Celtics ended up winning the game by four points 92-88, with shooting guard Ray Allen leading the way with twenty five points and Kevin Garnett leading the Celtics team in rebounds with eleven. However the person that lead the game in rebounds was no other than Dwight Howard with thirteen rebounds, but one thing the Magics need to work on is ball distribution their leader in assists Rashard Lewis had only two assists but one person in this series that always distributes the ball well is point guard Rondo who had a game high eight assists. In my opinion the Magics were slacking and this wasn't a win by the Celtics that I expected but maybe the Magics will realize their mistakes and take game two or maybe the momentum of the Celtics will cause them to take a two nothing lead but you never know the playoffs is where amazing happens.

Lakers vs Suns Game 1

The first game of the western conference finals took place in the staples center since the Lakers have won home court in the west. The Lakers are the favorite in the competition because of their size, they are much taller than the suns and their big men Paul Gasol and Andrew Bynum are also very agile in the paint so this is going to be a very tough task for the Suns to be the defending champions. In the beginning of the game the Suns had short lead however the Lakers stormed back taking the lead. The lakers team leader and future hall of famer Kobe Byrant went off for 40 points being the game's scoring leader. The sixth man for the Lakers Lamar Odom also made a great contribution for the Lakers by added 19 points and 19 rebounds, which was his playoff career high in rebounds and also Kobe's eleventh 4o point career game. The new edition Ron Artest had a game addition to Kobe and Lamar by dishing out five asssits which led his team. However the game's leader in assists was no other but former two time MVP Steve Nash who had 13 assists and the Suns scorer lead was Amar'e Stoudemire who had twenty three points. In the end the Lakers come out with an easy win 128-107 beating the Suns by twenty one points. In my opinion for the Suns next game against the Lakers they need to work on their rebounds, they lakers dominated them with the Suns rebounding leader only having six rebounds. That inexcusable for a team that made it so far in the playoffs, but thats where the Lakers size come into place since they are so much taller than the Suns they grab rebounds without effort. However the Suns need to box more than they did because Lamar Odom shouldn't be coming off the bench grabbing 19 rebounds. The last thing they need to work on is slowing down Kobe Byrant, everyone knows that Kobe Byrant cant be guarded but they need to make more efforts on double teaming him more than they did in the first game.

Boston vs Cleveland Game 6

This was a very important game for Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers because they were down 3-2 in the series. However this would not be an easy task with Rondo playing great, Ray Allen hitting almost every three, and a determined Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. Not only if the Cavaliers lost they would be eliminated from the playoffs it might have been their last game with Lebron James in a Cleveland Cavaliers jersey. The Celtics had control of the game at all times it was looking really bad for the the Cavaliers and their future with the two time MVP Lebron James. Down by ten points Lebron James hit two back to back threes putting the Cavaliers down by only four points with a couple minutes left to go in the fourth quarter. However it wasn't enough to take out the Celtics the Celtics stormed back by going on a big run to close the game and ruining the Cavaliers' dream of winning a NBA title, the Celtics had great defense and deserved to win the game forcing Lebron James to commit nine turnovers. Once again the Cavaliers achieve the goal of having the best record in the NBA and having the MVP on their team but their goals were destroyed by not winning a championship and not even making it to the NBA finals. In my opinion i think this is it for the Cavaliers, Lebron has to leave because  he has played his best basketball in the last couple years and was also coached by the coach of the year of 2009 Mike Brown. In conclusion the Boston Celtics advance to the eastern conference finals to face the flaming hot Orlando Magics who haven't lost a game yet in the playoffs and all the Lebron James could do is watch and wait to see what's going to happen in the off season of 2010.
